Hontiveros exposes crime syndicate
A “massive crime syndicate” that has operated in the Philippines for far too long and victimized many individuals, according to Senator Risa Hontiveros, is claimed that its victims included the family of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang.
At the same time that the POGO hubs in Bamban, Tarlac, and Porac Pampanga were being built Michael’s brother Tony Yang, who was detained by immigration authorities, is an employee of the Philippine Sanjia Steel Corporation, which has a warehouse in Cagayan de Oro.
Tony’s arrest, according to Hontiveros, will make their family’s connection to POGO and Chinese syndicates public.
Raymond Fortun, Michael’s attorney, chose not to comment. The House committee on dangerous drugs has issued an arrest order for Michael after charging him with contempt for missing the P3.6 billion drug buy-bust hearings in Pampanga.
